Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is KOKUIN?
A. It is a service for recording the original moves of breaking and the names of their creators, and passing them on. You can carve moves, settle whether two moves are the same, and publish your mastery records.
Q. What is the difference between "Under Review", "Certified" and "Established"?
A. A move is "Under Review" right after it is carved. With enough support it becomes "Certified", and once it holds without objection for a set period it becomes "Established". See The Code (Start Here) for details.
Q. Can I register a move I did not create myself?
A. Yes. You can register the record of a move created by someone else as its "carver". Even if you are not the creator, enter accurate creator information.
Q. What is "Same-Move Verdict"?
A. When someone appears with proof that they performed the same move earlier than an already carved move, the community votes to decide which claim stands.
Q. Can I keep a record private?
A. Mastery records registered under "Your Own Path" can be public or private. Set to private, they are hidden from other users and receive no evaluations.
Q. Can I register anonymously?
A. If the creator cannot be identified, or does not wish to be named, the move can be carved anonymously.
