The Code

  • A move created by you or by someone else
  • A move already posted publicly on a video platform (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and so on)
  • A move that is clear in the video and objectively identifiable
  • Video too blurry, too dark, too far away or too brief to tell who is doing what
  • Gestures that do not amount to a move and carry no meaning
  • Actions unrelated to dancing (walking, throwing something, just posing and the like)
  • An existing move or a move from another genre lifted as is, with no creativity of its own
  • A move that already exists in the world, simply renamed — equivalent to a bite
  • Several moves crammed into one carving (one move per carving)
  • A false creator name, a name taken from someone else, impersonation (carving someone else's move is itself allowed)

You may name and carve a move you created yourself, on the condition that your account has a linked social account (identity proven).

You may also give a provisional name to someone else's move and carve it, but the carver never becomes the creator. The name is fixed by the creator's own approval, and that approval requires an account with a linked social account (identity proven).

From your profile screen, you link one of Instagram / TikTok / YouTube / X under the same display name as this site, then temporarily post the verification code we give you in that account's bio to prove ownership. Until that proof is done, no name can be fixed.

Anyone can vote once they create an account. But fixing a move's name — naming the move — is only for accounts with a linked social account (identity proven): one of Instagram / TikTok / YouTube / X, linked under the same name as this site.

ORIGINAL certification is earned by supporting votes and lost by denying votes. It moves with the ratio between them, so nothing is ever permanently fixed.

Organised voting, impersonation and unnatural voting are prohibited. When confirmed, the votes are void and the records carved from the accounts involved are taken down. Serious cases may cost the account.

The operator checks, and records that break the Code are taken down.

A record taken down never comes back. The date record disappears with it. Check that you meet the conditions before you carve.

Whether two moves are the same is not decided here. That is the job of "someone did it earlier". New evidence rewrites it at any time.
